Regular Season Round 11: EB-85 - Sigulda 80-78

The most exciting game of round 11 in the EYBL U17 ended with only two-point defeat of higher ranked Latvian Sigulda (5-3) to twentieth ranked Norwegian EB-85 (4-4) 80-78 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sigulda. EB-85 trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-78. 25 personal fouls committed by Sigulda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Sivert Valso who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Nordahl Farstadvoll-Furnes (-2009) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four EB-85 players scored in double figures. Gustavs Petersons produced 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Martins Livmanis added 25 points respectively for EB-85. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. EB-85 moved-up to eighteenth place, which they share with BC Nokia. Sigulda at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
